The Landrace An ancestral landrace strain known as Warden's Kalat comes from Pakistan's dry, mountainous Balochistan. Although Kalat thrives in temperate and subtropical highland climates, its native habitat is a cold, high-altitude desert. It is a strain that is easy to grow and has a great tolerance for drought.
Kalat plants are tall, have both narrow and broad leaf phenotypes, and are primarily green with some purple variations. The plants have a canopy of several colas with a lot of resin and range in height from 150 to 180 cm.
Growing deep roots in quest of moisture and food, Kalat is a strain that evolved in such an arid area and can withstand tough conditions with little water and nutrients. Each plant produces 300–750 grammes. Harvests in northern latitudes are available around October and November, and flowering lasts for nine to eleven weeks.
Kalat has a rich aroma that is meaty, sulphorous, and phenolic. It has a rich, high-roast coffee bean flavour and a creamy flavour. It has a long-lasting, well-balanced, joyful, and sociable effect.
