HOW DO YOU GROW CBD WITHOUT THC?

Growing CBD without THC is not technically possible as even hemp has very small amounts of THC, but it is possible through a process called selective breeding, where plant breeders specifically choose plants with low levels of THC and high levels of CBD. This is done through the crossbreeding of hemp plants with high CBD levels and low THC levels with cannabis plants with low CBD and high THC levels.

A lot of today's CBD strains have been bred for a 1:1 ratio. This means that there is as much CBD as there is THC, and not that there is a low percentage of these 2 cannabinoids, so the variety could still have 12% THC but it would also have 12% CBD. The effects when consuming this type of cannabis are balanced, which is one of the key benefits of the 1:1 THC:CBD ratio. CBD may to some extent lessen the psychoactivity and/or any negative effects of the THC.

The first step in growing CBD with very low levels of THC, is to choose the right seeds, which motherseeds.es has a good range of CBD seeds available.

Cannabis seeds are preferred over hemp seeds because they have a better range of cannabinoids. A better range cannabinoids is very important when it comes to medical cannabis and their products, as the cannabinoids work in symbiosis with each other and therefor a medical cannabis product that is full spectrum, even if the THC is <0.2%, is more beneficial than a hemp product.

Once the seeds are selected, the next step is to choose the right growing environment. CBD plants need plenty of sunlight and well-draining soil to thrive. They also need constant watering, but not too much, as excess moisture can lead to mould and other issues.

It is also important to monitor the plant’s nutrients and pH levels to ensure they are optimal for CBD production. Using the right fertilisers and adjusting the pH of the soil can help increase CBD production and reduce THC levels.

Overall, growing CBD plants requires the same careful planning and monitoring as grow any plant for medicinal purposes. It is important to choose the right seeds, create the right growing environment, and use techniques to reduce THC levels if necessary. With the right approach, it is possible to grow high-quality CBD with low levels of THC.
